TO NRC BULLETIN NO. 88-10 AND SUPPLEHENT 1

TO BULLETIN NO.

88-10, "NONCONFORHING HOLDED-CASE CIRCUIT BREAKERS,"

PALO VERDE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION (PVNGS)

(TAC NOS. 71331571332 AND 71333)

On November 22, 1988, the NRC issued Bulletin No. 88-10, "Nonconforming Molded-Case Circuit Breakers."

The Bulletin requested that licensees and construction permit holders take the actions described in the Bulletin to review the trace-ability and use of potentially nonconforming molded-case circuit breakers (HCCBs) at their plants.

By letters dated Harch 30, and December 27, 1989, Arizona Pub'lic Service Company (APS) provided its response regarding PVNGS.

The letters described the actions taken as a result of the Bulletin, and confirm that the Bulletin requirements have been satisfactorily addressed and/or completed.

A detailed technical review of your responses has not been performed.

However, the staff has evaluated your actions and justification related to Action Item 4, and finds them to be acceptable when taking into account your actions for all of the other Action Items.

This issue may be subject to inspection at a later date.

If a subsequent in-spection identifies deficiencies in your actions and responses, this issue will be reopened.

Presently, the staff considers your response to Bulletin No. 88-10 complete for PVNGS.
