This letter refers to the special
inspection
conducted
by Messrs.
A.
D.
Johnson
and
M. Cillis of this office on August 10-11,
1988,
and October 6,
1988, of activities authorized
by
NRC Licenses
NPF-51 and
NPF-74 and
to the discussion
of our findings held by Messrs.
Johnson
and Cillis with Mr.
J.
D. Driscoll and other members of your staff on August ll, 1988.
The inspection
was conducted'to
review an allegation related to radiation
protection activities.
The allegation which was
documented
in a letter that
had
been submitted to the
NRC by an individual pursuant to Title 10 CFR 19. 16,
"Requests
by Worker s for Inspection"
was brought to your attention
on August
10,
1988.
Areas
examined during this inspection
are described
in the enclosed,
inspection report.
Within these
areas,
the inspection consisted
of selective
examinations
of procedures
and representative
records,
interviews with
personnel,
and observations
by the inspector.
No violations of NRC requirements
were identified within the
scope of this
inspection=.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2. 790(a),
a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
