This letter refers to the routine inspection
conducted
by Messrs.
M. Cillis
and
G.
R. Cicotte of this office on June
27
July 1, 1988, of activities
authorized
by
NRC License
Nos.
and NPF-74 and to the
discussions
of our findings held by Messrs Cillis and Cicotte with you and
other
members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas
examined during this inspection
are described
in the enclosed
inspection
report.,
Mithin these
areas,
the inspection consisted
of selective
examinations of procedures
and, representative
records,
interviews with
personnel,
review of the status
of unresolved
item 50-529/88-14-03
related to
the
10 CFR Part 20.405 report submitted in Licensee
Event Report
(LER)
88-011-00,
and observations
by the inspectors.
Based
on the results of this inspection, it appears
that (1) you failed to
ensure that
an individuals'uarterly occupational
dose to the whole body did
not exceed
3 rem,
and (2) you failed to control
a high radiation area in
accordance
with the regulatory requirements
prescribed
in your license.
Enforcement actions relative to the findings discussed
in the enclosed
report
will be the subject of separate
correspondence.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790(a),
a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
