This refers to the unannounced
inspection
conducted
by Mr.
C.
Ramsey of this
office, on February 1-5, 1988, of activities authorized
by
NRC License
No.
and NPF-74,
and to the discussion of findings held with
members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas
examined during this inspection are described
in the enclosed
inspection
report.
Mithin these
areas,
the inspection consisted of selective
examinations
of procedures
and representative
records,
interviews with
personnel,
and observations
by the inspector.
No violations of NRC requirements
were identified within the scope of this
inspection.
However,
we wish to draw your attention to concerns identified in
the fire protection area relating to spurious control
room fire protection
and backlogged fire protection maintenance
items.
A discussion
of these
concerns is contained
in paragraphs
3.D and 4.B of the enclosed
report.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790(a),
a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
