on the Palo Verde Requalification
Training Program conducted
by Messrs.
Robert Pate,
Jesse
Crews
and
Philip Morri11 of this office on October
22 and 23, 1987, of activities
authorized
by
NRC License
No.
A review of the requalification examinations
administered
by your facility
training department
on September
9 and 23,
1987 is described
in the enclosed
inspection report.
The inspection
included
a review of examination results,
your analysis of the examination results
and interviews with selected
licensed
personnel.
No violations or deviations of NRC requirements
were identified within the
scope of this inspection.
Program
improvements that have already
been
implemented
and areas that need
additional
improvement were identified in your requalification training
program.
Corrective actions in accordance
with your requalification training
program
have already
been taken for most of the'ersonnel
involved.
However,
your staff has advised that additional short and long term actions
are planned
to ensure
(1) all licensed
personnel
are sufficiently trained
and (2)
additional
program enhancements
are
implemented.
We encourage
you to provide
the appropriate
level of management
attention to ensure
these
improvements
are
implemented effectively and expeditiously.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790(a),
a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
