Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS)

Unit 2 Reload Technical Specification Amendment-File: 87-F-005-419.05; 87-C-056-026; 87-E-056-026 Attached please find proposed changes to the PVNGS Unit 2 Technical Specifications. These changes are a result of the upcoming reload. To facilitate the review, an index of the changes has been included. The attachments have been ranked in the order that a review and approval is needed. The due dates are based on the current outage schedule and reflect the date when the Unit will enter the first applicable mode for that attachment. To facilitate the review process, the index indentifies, by double asterisks, those attachments which are new or contain different changes than those changes made in the Unit 1 Cycle 2 amendment submittal. Also, those attachments which are not needed for starting the Unit have been identified by an asterisk.

Enclosed, with this amendment request package, are the following:

A. Description of the Technical Specification Amendment Request.

B. Purpose of the Technical Specification.

C ~ Need for the Technical Specification Amendment.

D. Basis for Proposed No Significant Hazards Consideration Determination.

E. Safety Analysis for the Amendment Request.

F. Environmental Impact Consideration Determination.

G. Marked-up Technical Specification Change Pages.

By copy of this letter, we are also forwarding the proposed changes to the appropriate state agency.

In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 170.12(c), the license amendment application fee of $ 150.00 has been forwarded to the U.S. NRC License Fee Management Coordinator.

    • Attachment 12 was not requested in the Unit 1 Cycle 2 reload package.

Attachment 14 is not the same as the Unit 1 Cycle 2 submi.ttal.

Unit 2 Tech Specs do not contain the paragraph which makes reference to a CE topical. The topical had been revised and was so noted in the Unit 1 Cycle 2 reload package.
