and to the discussion of our findings
held with members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas
examined during this inspection
are described
in the enclosed
inspection
report.
Within these
areas,
the inspection consisted
of selective
examinations
of procedures
and representative
records,
interviews with
personnel,
and observations
by the inspector.
Although no violations of NRC requirements
were identified within the scope of
this inspection,
we direct your attention to the discussion
in the attached
report
on your method of handling reports of defects
re'ceived
from outside
your organization.
Although our review in this area is ongoing, our initial
assessment
indicates that your present
program does
not ensure that actions
taken in response
to reports of defects
are adequately
tracked
by appropriate
levels of management.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 1.790(a),
a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
