REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - MODERATOR TEMPERATURE COEFFICIENT FOR PALO VERDE UNIT 1 By letter dated February 28, 1986, you requested an amendment to the Palo Verde Unit 1 Technical Specification 3. 1. 1.3.
You state that the purpose of the request is to modify the Moderator Temperature Coefficient limitation to account for a different steam line break analysis performed for Palo Verde Unit 1, Cycle 1.
In order to complete our review of this request, we require the following additional information.
( 1)
A copy of the specific steam line break analysis which necessitated your request (2)
A more detailed discussion on why this technical specification amendment is necessary (3)
A clarification as to whether the Palo Verde Unit 1, Cycle 1 specific steam line break analysis meets the bounding values of the analyses performed for CESSAR (i.e., whether the analyses in Chapter 15 of the FSAR need to be amended)
We request that you provide the above information by May 27, 1986.
