9A.67(5b) Water Supplies (hose stream allowance)

Will revise Table 9B.3-1 to ".PVNGS complies" 9A.68(6) Protection of Structural Steel a) Added water suppression in some areas b) Fire Dampers - (Note: letter ANPP-30680, 9/27/84 provides analysis on surface mounted dampers. FSAR change proposed.)

9A.70(8) Smoke Removal a) Auxiliary Building - Deleted commitment to removing HEPA filters. Smoke removal is provided by normal exhaust and supplemented by portable smoke ejectors.

9A.71(9) Fire Alarm System a) Now says NFPA 72D used as guidance rather than "conforms to" (Note - NFPA deviations have been submitted).

1) 24 hour2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
battery backup except panel 1JQKNE10D.

This is addressed in SER Supplement No. 6.

9A.73(11) Routing of cable in zones 37A&B, 42C, 48, 52, 54 and 74ASB.

Clarified response to describe protective wrap around components in accordance with 10CFR50 Appendix R.

9A.74(12) Routing of Cables Note: Response will be corrected to indicate rerouting of some cables in Units 2 and 3 for Appendix R separation in lieu of wrapping in place. (See also Question 9A.92).

9A.77(15) Safe Shutdown Component List Revised list of safe shutdown equipment now included in Table 9B.1-3 and 9B.1-4.

9A.79(16b) HVAC outside air soffit and duct rating in fire zone 2

1) Description Expanded. No reduction in commitment.
2) No change.
3) Response upgrades fire damper in central wall between trains A 8 B to 3 hour3.472222e-5 days
8.333333e-4 hours
4.960317e-6 weeks
1.1415e-6 months
, construction (surface mounted - see also letter ANPP-30680, 9/27/84).

I' 9A.82(16e) Cables above suspended ceilings

1) Although question is for control building, response adds that train A safety related conduits are above ceiling at the 140'levation of the auxiliary building. Train B cables are at the 120'evel (not above ceiling).

9A.84(16g) Rating of Cable Shafts Response more concise (deletes reference to 30% tray loading and IEEE 383 which have no bearing on answer).

No change in commitment to 3 hour3.472222e-5 days
8.333333e-4 hours
4.960317e-6 weeks
1.1415e-6 months
barriers and fire stops.

9A.92(19e) Auxiliary Building

1) No change
2) Response more concise. Indicates that Units 2 8 3 will have some cable rerouted for Appendix R

'separation instead of wrapping.

9A.95(19h) Auxiliary Building Fire Zone 54 New response has been shortened to indicate that failure of the reactor trip switchgear does not F

preclude a reactor, trip.

'A.98(20c) Containment Building

1) Provide Oil Collection System --No Change
2) Former response indicates availability of other steam generator. New response (Letter ANPP-30291 August 21, 1984), analyzes fire in the steam generator and reactor coolant pump area indicating that a transient combustible fire will not cause the failure of all steam generator sensing lines.

This is also mentioned in the Appendix R devi ations that fai lure of all sensing lines is not considered a credible event.
