Dear Mr. Van Brunt:
Subject:
NRC Audit of the Palo Verde DISTRIBUTION SN /~D-52///529'/53//j NRC PDR LPDR NSIC PRC System LB¹3 Reading JLee EALicitra
- Attorney, OELD NGrace EJordan ACRS (16)
Emergency Operating Procedures The NRC staff has reached agreement with your staff on conducting an audit of the emergency operating procedures (EOPs) for Palo Verde.
The audit has been tentatively scheduled for September 22-24, 1984 at the Palo Verde site and will consist of an opening meeting with the APS staff, two days of simulator exercises using the
- EOPs, a control room walk-through, and an exit interview.
To support this schedule we request that five sets of the current Palo Verde
- EOPs, along with the Procedure Generation Package (PGP) revision that was used to develop this set of EOPs, be provided to the NRC by August 13, 1984.
The staff will review these documents to determine whether any inconsistencies exist between the PGP and EOPs.
If any inconsistencies are found, they will be identified to the APS staff by September 4, 1984.
If, based on the NRC review, any changes are needed to the
- EOPs, we request that 5 copies of a draft of the revised EOPs be forwarded to the NRC staff by September 17, 1984.
The revised EOPs should be considered draft copies not requiring formal APS review and approval prior to the site visit.
The EOPs will simply serve as working copies for the simulator and control room portions of the audit.
If you have any questions regarding the audit, you should contact Nanny Licitra, the Licensing Project Manager.
Sincerely, cc:
