SUMMARY
OF MEETING TO DISCUSS GEOTECHNICAL INFORMATION FOR PALO VERDE A meeting was held on May 8, 1984 in Bethesda, Maryland with representatives of the applicant and Bechtel.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the staff's request for additional information, dated February 29, 1984, regarding the staff's evaluation of the effects a break in temporary water lines under Palo Verde structures.
The applicant's assessment of this occurrence was provided in a Final Report (DER 81-35) submitted along with the supporting documentation.
Enclosure 1 lists the meeting attendees and the meeting is summarized as follows:
~Summa r The staff informed the applicant that it is reviewing the applicant's Final Report on DER 81-35 in order to determine whether there are any safety considerations to concerns, expressed by a member of the public regarding the effects of the broken water'ines.
As a result of the review, the staff had requested additional information of the applicant (letter dated February 29, 1984).
- During the meeting, the applicant asked questions about the staff's request 'in order to better understand what information was needed to respond to the request.
Following these discussions, the applicant stated that it would be able to
'espond'y, June 15, 1984.
The staff'stated that it is in the process of obtaining technical assistance from the Corps of Engineering (COE) in order to complete its review of this matter.
It is" expected. that COE will assign a reviewer by mid June 1984.
