CLOSEOUT OF TWO GL 83-28 ITEMS (TAC NOS.
57805 AND 53730)
Dear Mr. Sorensen:
In October, 1983 NRC issued Generic Letter 83-28 identifying certain safety issues and requesting information from licensees to support evaluation of these issues.
WPPSS responded on November 18, 1983.
On March 19, 1985 we advised you that your response was complete with the exception of items 2.1, 2.2.1, 2.2.2, and 4.5.3 in the Generic Letter.
Our March 19, 1985 letter included a request for additional information.
On May 17, 1985 you responded addressing each point we raised.
At this time I am advising that we have
.completed our review of two of the open items and consider the issues closed.
Item 2.1 (Part 1)
(TAC 57805) required your confirmation that all components whose functioning is required to trip the reactor are identified as safety related on all plant documentation and in information handling systems that are used to control all activities performed on this safety related equipment.
Your response has been reviewed and found to be acceptable.
A copy of the SER supporting this determination is enclosed.
Item 2.2.1 (TAC 53730) required that you describe in detail your program for classifying all safety related components other than RTS components as safety related.
We have reviewed your response to this item and found it acceptable.
The results of our safety evaluation are found in the enclosed
