Dear Mr. Vissing:
The reference (a) letter noted that B&W Topical Evaluation BAW-
- 2257, Rev.
1, did not address the potential impact of applying the ratio procedure to the development of P-T limit curves and LTOP limits.
Therefore, it was requested that an assessment of the RG&E application of the ratio procedure as described in position 2.1 of Regulatory Guide 1.99 Revision 2, including an evaluation of the margins specified, be performed.
r This information was provided in reference (b),
wherein RG&E submitted a Pressure Temperature Limits Report (PTLR), in support of the Improved Technical Specification (ITS)
- program, for NRC review and acceptance.
This submittal included the methodology used by RG&E to determine pressure-temperature limits and Low Temperature Overpressure Protection (LTOP) values.
In its determination, RG&E used the ratio procedure as described in position 2.1 of RG 1.99 Rev.
2 and the specified margin terms.
