this office from April 19,
1987 through
May 30,
1987 at the
R.
E. Ginna
Nuclear Power Plant of activities authorized
by
NRC License
No.
and to
the discussions
of our findings by Mr. Polich with Mess'rs.
S.
M. Spector,
T. A. Meyer and other members of your staff periodically during the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection
are described
in the
NRC Region I
Inspection
Report which is enclosed with this letter.
Within these
areas,
the
inspection consisted of selective
examinations of procedures
and
representative
records,
interviews with personnel
and observations
by the
inspectors.
Based
on the results of this inspection, it appears
that one of your
activities was not conducted
in full compliance with NRC requirements,
as set
forth in the Notice of Violation, enclosed
herewith as Appendix A.
Your
response
to this notice is to be submitted in accordance
with the provisions
of 10 CFR 2.201
as stated in Appendix A, Notice of Vi'olation.
In addition, your attention is directed to the comments
in paragraph 4.e., of
the enclosed
inspection report regarding the presence
of non-technical
r'eading
material in the control
room.
You are requested
to review this concern
and
provide the results of your review in writing to this office within thirty
days of the receipt of this letter.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790,
a copy of this letter and enclosures will be
placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
The response
directed
by this letter and the accompanying
Notice are not
subject to clearance
procedures
of the Office of Management
and Budget as
required
by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980,
