conducted
by Mr.
W. A. Cook of
this office on September
1,
1985 through October
19,
1985 at the
R.
E. Ginna
Nuclear
Power Plant of activities authorized
by
NRC license
No.
DPR-18 and to
the discussions
of our findings by Mr. Cook with Mr. S.
M. Spector
and other
members of your staff periodically during the inspection.
Areas
examined during this inspection
are described
in the
NRC Region I
Inspection
Report which is enclosed with this letter.
Within these
areas,
the inspection
consisted of selective
examinations of procedures
and
representative
records,
interviews with personnel
and observations
by the
inspector.
Within the
scope of this inspection,
no violations were observed.
However,
a
recent negative
trend in station
housekeeping
and cleanliness
practices
has
been
observed.
A previous violation in this area in 1982 indicates
programmatic
changes
were not completely effective.
Appropriate standards
of
plant housekeeping
must be maintained to prevent the creation of conditions
which will adversely affect quality.
