safety inspection of your annual
emergency
preparedness
exercise
was
conducted
by Mr. C. Amato of this office and other members of an
NRC team
on
October 18-20,
1988, at your Ginna Nuclear
Power Plant, Ontario,
Discussions
of our findings were held by Mr. Amato with you and your staff at
the conclusion of the exercise.
Areas examined during this inspection
are described
in the
NRC Region I
Inspection
Report which is enclosed with this letter.
Within these
areas,
the
inspection
consisted
of selective
examination of procedures
and representative
records,
interviews with personnel
and observations
of the emergency
exercise
by team members.
Within the
scope of this inspection,
no violations were identified.
Rochester
Gas
and Electric's performance
during the exercise
demonstrated
the ability to
implement the Ginna Nuclear
Emergency
Response
Plan in a manner that would
provide adequate
protective
measures
for the health
and safety of the public.
