Subject:
Operating License Review Schedule
, (St. Lucie Plant Unit No. 2)
Me met with you and your staff on September 18, 1980 to discuss the construction schedule for the St. Lucie Plant Unit No.
2 and our operating license review schedule.
A sublunary of this meeting was issued on September 22, 1980.
Re mutually agreed that the pivotal aspect of establishing a realistic review schedule was our estimate as to when actual construction of Unit No, 2 would be completed.
The projection for construction completion made by our Caseload Forecast Panel in.
Felruary 1980, was December 1983 in contrast-to your date of December 1982's a result of our September 18 meeting with you, the Caseload Forecast Panel performed an update projection review during their site visit of September 30 through October 2, 1980.
After careful review and discussion with your staff, we continue to project a construction completion (fuel load) date of December 1983.
This is ref'lected-in the summary of our visit dated October 8, 1980.
In a'etter dated October 3, 1980, you provided us with some additional comments reflecting our September 18 discussions and requested that we meet with you to further discuss the staff review schedule.
In view of the above, our discussions with you and observations made at the plant site, we have accordingly adjusted the review of the St. Lucie Plant Unit No.
2 application to reflect the following:
- Issue Safety Evaluation Report
- ACRS Neeting SER Supplements
- January, 1981
- February, 1983
- Narch, 1983
- Nay, 1983 He consider this to be a realistic schedule which we will periodically reassess to account for any substantive changes that may occur.
kIith regard to your request to schedule design review presentations, we believe that these discussions should be held sometime after your application has been docketed.
Sincerely, OFFICE/
