Gentlemen:
Thank you for your letter of October
16, 1979, informing us of the steps
you have taken to correct the items of noncompliance
concerning activities
under
NRC Operating License No. DPR-67 brought to your attention in our
letter of September
21, 1979.
We have reviewed your request for down-
grading item A in the Notice of Violation, Appendix A of our September
21,
1979 letter, to an open item.
Your response
admits that the prerequisite
tests of ANSI-N510 were not performed at the time of the system modification
and,
as such,
the item cannot be downgraded.
We will examine your corrective
actions
and plans during subsequent
inspections.
We appreciate
your cooperation with us.
Sincerely,
FJack T. Sutherland,
Chief
Fuel Facility and Materials
Safety Branch
