STATUS OF UNRESOLVED SAFETY ISSUES AT COMMONWEALTH PLANTS (DRESDEN, QUAD CITIES, LASALLE~ BYRON, BRAIDWOOD AND ZION)

Generic Letter 89-21 requested you provide information concerning the implementation status of unresolved safety issues (USis) relevant to each of the Co1TDT1onwealth plants. This information in conjunction with evaluations performed by the Project Managers, the USI task force, and the NRR technical staff provided the bases for the staff's assessment of the status of the resolution and implementation of the USis for all the Commonwealth Edison plants. The$e results were presented to the Commission at a meeting on February 14, 1990.

The enclosures to this letter present the staff understanding of the current status of all unimplemented USis for each of the Commonwealth facilities. The staff encourages your effort to complete the unimplemented USis.

If you have any questions or comments regarding this information, please contact the appropriate Project Manager.
