STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF VACdUM BREAKERS (TAC 57152 and 57153)
Re:
Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit Nos. 2 and 3 We have completed our*review of your submittal dated July 12, 1983 regarding the structural integrity of v~cuum breakers for the Mark I Containment Program.
A detailed review ~nd technical evaluatfon was perfo.rmed by the Staff's contractor, Franklin Research Center, and *is found in the enclosed Technical Evaluation Report (TER).
We have reviewed this report and concur with the contractor's conclusion that the vacutim breakers at Dresden Unit Nos. 2 and 3 will provide adequate margin of safety under. the revised loadings in the Mark I containment for all operating ~onditions, and therefore need not be modified.
A copy of the Safety Evaluati.on supporting our findings is enclosed.
