This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by Mr. Joseph M. Ulie
of this office on August 13, 1985, of activities at Dresden Nuclear Power
Station authorized by Operating License No. DPR-19 and No. DPR-25 and to
the discussion of our findings with Mr. Doug Scott at the conclusion of
the inspection.
On August 29, 1985, Mr. Ulie conducted a second exit with
Mr. Flessner and other members of his staff at the Dresden Station.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the* inspection-. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
interviews with personnel.
During this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to be in
violation of NRC requirements, as described in the enclosed Appendix.
The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified
violation and to prevent recurrence. Consequently, no reply to this
violation is required and we have no further questions regarding this
matter at this time.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC's Public Document
Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
