'LCOs FOR CLASS IE VITAL INSTRUMENT BUSES,' AND 49, 'INTERLOCKS AND LCOs FOR CLASS IE TIE BREAKERS,' PURSUANT TO 10 CFR 50. 54 ( f)"
FOR DRESDEN, UNITS 2 AND 3 (TAC NOS. M82406 AND M82407)
On July 18, 1991, the NRC issued Generic Letter (GL) 91-11 which contained the staff resolution of Generic Issues 48 and 49.
The GL required that licensees certify that procedures exist which contain time limitati.ons and -surveillance requirements for vital instrument buses (VIB), inverters, or other onsite power sources for VIB and tie breakers.
If procedures do not exist, a justification demonstrating the reasons why the controls are not needed is required.
By letters dated January 24, 1992, and November 4, 1992~ you responded to the GL.
- You indicated that procedures for time limitations and survei 11 ance requirements are in place at Dresden, Units 2 and 3.
The NRC staff has reviewed ypur responses and find they meet the reporting requirements set forth in GL 91-11.
This completes the staff's activities on TAC Nos. M82406 and M82407.
