The enclosed
report
documents
a routine safety inspection
conducted
by inspec-
tors of this office on March 12,
1989 - April 8,
1989, at the Susquehanna
Steam
Electric Station
(SSES),
Salem
Township,
The inspection
covered
plant operations,
surveillance
and maintenance
activities for both units.
At
the conclusion of the inspection,
Mr. J. Stair
summarized
the inspection find-
ings to Mr. R.
Byram and other members of your staff.
The
inspector
noted
that
many corporate staff
and contractors
working at the
corporate office do not take
access
training for SSES.
Consequently,
they
do
not receive
formal training which addresses
alternate
avenues
available to them
to raise
safety
concerns.
As stated
in the report you
have
agreed
to review
this
concern
and
inform the
resident
inspectors
of your
course
of action.
