The following applications were filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (ONRR) for review in connection with the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station Unit Nos.
1 and 2.

A February 10, 1984 application for extension of the construction completion date for Unit No. 2.
A Class II fee ($1.200) was remit-ted with your application pursuant to 10 CFR 170.22.
2.
An April 10, 1984 application for Technical Specification changes relating to the operating temperature limits on the spray pond for 2-unit operation for Unit Nos.
1 and 2.
A Class III fee {$4,000) was remitted with your application pursuant to 10 CFR 170.22.
Based on information provided by the ONRR staff. it has been determined that:

A refund of g,200 is appropriate for Item 1 since the application is being exempted from the fee requirements because no review had commenced on the application prior to issuance of License No.
NPF-22 on March 23, 1984.
On this basis, it has been determined that an exemption. pursuant to 10 CFR 170.11(b). from the fee requirements is authorized by law and such exemption is otherwise in the public interest and is hereby granted for the February 10, 1984 application.

A Class III fee {$4,000) and a Class I fee ($400) are appropriate for Item 2 since the review will involve consideration of a single 8407050455 840628 PDR ADQCK 05000387 P

Therefore, an additional sum of $400 is appropriate to complete the fees due for Item 2.
On the one hand, a refund of $1,200 is due your Company and, on the other
- hand, a sum of $400 is due the USNRC.
We are applying $400 of the $1,200 refund due your Company for Item 1 to the $400 due the USNRC for Item 2.
Therefore, we have concurrently authorized the Division of Accounting and Finance to refund
$800 to your Company.
We hope this transaction meets with your approval. If the ONRR staff's final review of Item 2 reveals that these fees are not appropriate, you will be notified and any neces-sary adjustments will be made; Although a copy of the revised Part 170 which became effective on June 20, 1984, was sent to all licensees with a notice dated May 24, 1984, enclosed is an additional copy for your information and use.
As you wil'I note from the revised rule, applications filed on or after June 20, 1984 for license amendments, relief, exemptions, and other approvals are subject to actual costs up to the amount specified in the revised Part 170, and should be accompanied by a $150 application fee.
Thereafter. your Company will be billed at six-month intervals until the review of the application is com-pleted.
For those app'lications filed before June 20, 1984, the fees will be assessed in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 170.22 of the March 23, 1978 regulation.
