~OR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WET PERACKING l.
Verify that the special lifting devices for the removal of the existing, low densitv spent fuel storage racks and the installation o~ the new, high density racks meet the criteria of ANSI N14.6-1978 or ANSI 830.9-1971 for non-special lifting devices.
2.
Discuss the procedures for the removal of the existing, low density and installation of the new, high density spent fuel racks.
Verify that all safe load paths for these operations are clearly marked on the floor or are included in the procedures.
Provide drawings that show the load paths of the existing and the new fuel racks and all other heavy loads associated with the spent fuel pool wet reracking operation.

Jn your submittal of December 18, 1986 it is stated that liftina rios for the removal and installation o~ racks will be handled from the overhead crane.
Discuss the crane design with respect to the guidelines of NUREG-0612 and provide the capacity of the crane.
4.
Discuss how the overhead crane is equipped with mechanical stops or electrical interlocks.
5.
Discuss how the removal of the attachments of the existing, low density racks to the liner/embed plates is considered in the procedures with respect to liner integrity.
6.
Discuss the methods/procedures that will be used during the "wet" reracking operations that will prevent damaqe to fuel stored in the pool(s> which could result in radioactive releases or potential criticality.
