1991, the NRC staff provided you with our supplemental safety evaluation (SSE) regarding Nine Mile Point 1 conformance with Regulatory Guide 1.97, Revision 2

(TAC No. H69209).

Subsequently by letter dated June 1,

1992, Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation (NMPC) provided comments on our SSE.

The NRC staff is in the process of reviewing NHPC's comments on our SSE;

however, due to higher priority activities, we do not expect to complete our review of these comments until late January 1993.
