This refers to the independent
measurements
inspection conducted -by Messrs. R. H. Harris
and P. M. Peterson of this office on January 27- January 31, 1992, at Nine Mile Point
Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1, at Scriba, New York. The inspection examined
activities authorized by NRC License No. DPR-63.
Subsequent
to the inspection, discussions
of our findings were held by Mr. Harris with Messrs. K. Sweet, A. Curran and other
members of your staff.
The areas examined during thi's inspection included an ultrasonic examination of the torus
wall to determine iflocalized thinning has occurred,
and a review of data prepared
to
substantiate
maximum thinning and pitting allowances for the four main condenser
water
boxes.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified.
