conclusion of the inspection.
Areas
examined during this inspection
are described
in the
NRC Region
I Inspection
Report which is enclosed with this letter'.
Within these
areas,
the inspection
consisted
of selective
examinations
of procedures
and representative
records,
interviews with personnel,
and observations
by the inspector.
Within the
scope of this inspection,
no violations were observed.
However,
as
discussed ir the enclosed
inspection report,
a concern
was identified involving
your method of performing single control
rod scram time testing.
We understand
that you plan to revise your surveillance
procedure
in accordance
with current
vendor guidance
and,
in the future, perform single control rod scram time testing
with the .control rods isolated
from the charging
pump.
You are requested
to
respond
in writing within 30 days of receipt of this letter and confirm this
commitment.
The response
requested
by the letter is not subject to the clearance
procedures
of the Office of Management
and Budoet
as required
by the Paperwork Reduction
Act of 1980,
PL 96-511.
