REVIEW OF
RESPONSE
TO BULLETIN 89-02 FOR NINE MILE POINT UNITS 1 AND 2 (TAC NOS. 74280 and 74281)
By letter dated January 18, 1990, the Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation (NMPC) responded to Bulletin 89-02, "Stress Corrosion Cracking of High Hardness Type 410 Stainless Steel Internal Preloaded Bolting in Anchor Darling Model S350W Swing Check Valves or Valves of Similar Design."
In the response, NMPC confirmed that the valve inspections requested by the Bulletin were not necessary since neither of the Nine Mile Point units have Anchor Darling Model S350W valves nor do they have other valves of similar design with preloaded Type 410 SS bolt materials as addressed by the Bulletin.
Therefore, the staff considers NMPC's action of responding to the Bulletin to be complete.
Accordingly, the actions related to TAC Nos.
74280 and 74281 for NMP-1 and 2
are considered to be complete.
