Dear Mr. Burkhardt:
On August 15,
- 1989, our office received an allegation that a
contractor employed at your Nine Mile Point facility may have been involved in criminal activities prior to employments That information may not have been provided to your security personnel by this individual during completion of the background screening questionnaire.
In addition, the alleger claimed that this individual was an occasional drug-user while off-duty.
On August 16,
- 1989, Mr. Robert
- Temps, of the NRC resident inspector's office provided the name of the individual described in the allegation to your staff and was informed that this individual was currently employed as a contractor at Nine Mile Point.
Consequently, we request that you review this matter expe-ditiously and provide our resident inspectors with the results of your review and any actions taken to address these results.
