(50-410/88-201.)
This letter transmits the report of the inspection
conducted
August 17-19,
1988 of the Nine Mile Point Unit 2 site located in Scriba,
New York by
J.
B. Jacobson
and T. B. Silko of the Vendor Inspection
Branch.
The inspection
was related to activities authorized
by
NRC License
Number NPF-69.
At the
conclusion of the inspection,
the findings were discussed
with Mr. J. L. Willis
and other members of your staff.
Release
of this report was delayed during
~
~
NRC's ongoing review of nonconforming
and substandard
vendor products.
The purpose of this inspection
was to review the procurement
and subsequent
activities relative to the dedication for safety-related
application of molded
case circuit breakers
obtained from NSSS,
Incorporated.
Additional procurements
of safety-related
equipment from NSSS,
Incorporated
were also reviewed.
Within the scope of this inspection,
no violations were observed;
however,
several
weaknesses
related to testing of molded case circuit breakers
were
observed
and are discussed
in the inspection report, Section 7.0.
No specific
response
to this report is required.
Region I will follow-up on the identified
'eaknesses.
