GRivenbark On March 10, 1988 the NRC issued NRC Bulletin 88-03, "Inadequate Latch Engagement in HFA Type Latching Relays Manufactured By General Electric (GE)
Company."
The Bulletin requested licensees perform inspections to ensure that all GE latching - type HFA relays installed in Class 1E (safety-related) applications have adequate latch engagement and that those relays which fail to meet acceptance criteria be repaired or replaced.
On July 14, 1988 you submitted a response to Bulletin 88-03 including the number and type of relays inspected and the results of the inspection.
You further stated that the two relays that failed to meet the inspection criteria were dispositioned for non-nuclear use.
Me find your response adequately addresses the concerns of Bulletin 88-03.
