Draft BNL Report, "Interfacing Systems LOCA at BllRs Tasks 1A and 2A" l
Enclosed is a draft report from Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) entitled, "Interfacing Systems LOCA at BWRs Tasks 1A and 2A".
- This draft report contains information complied by BNL for use in performing a probability risk assessment (PRA) concerning intersystem LOCAs.
The BNL contract is with the Division of Safety Review and Oversight (DSRO),
NRR and is to be used in the resolution of Generic Issue ¹105, "Intersystem LOCAs in BWRs".
Roy Woods is the Task Manager for this effort.
This information will be used in subsequent tasks which will identify possible interfaces between high and low pressure
- systems, possible failure modes and frequencies, and likely consequences of those postulated LOCAs.
We would appreciate your review of the material concerning Nine Mile Point Unit 2 and your comments regarding its accuracy and completeness.
Your comments will assist us in assuring that later BNL efforts in this area are based on correct information.
Your comments on the enclosed draft report should be sent directly to Roy Woods at the NRC.
