Environmental gualification Audit of Nine Mile Point, Unit 2 During the week of December 16, 1985, the NRC staff performed an Environ-mental gualification Audit on Nine Mile Point, Unit 2 (NMP-2).
During that audit a number of items were identified as needing to be completed in order to have a complete and acceptable program for Environmental gualification of safety-related electrical equipment.
A meeting summary is being prepared for this meeting.
However, in order to assist your staff in providing the information still required for this program, Enclosure 1 contains a list of action items for the Environmental gualification Program as identified during that audit.
For each of the items identified confirmation should be provided in writing that the action has actually been completed.
A response that an action will be completed as required will not be sufficient to close the item.
In addition, Enclosure 2 identifies the Mechanical Engineering Packages which are to be submitted for staff review.
A schedule for response to the enclosures should be provided to the Licensing Project Manager, Mary Haughey - (301)492-7897 within eight working days from the date of this letter.
Any questions concerning the enclosures should be directed to the Licensing Project Manager.

The maintenance and surveillance programs are fully implemented.

All files have been reviewed to ensure all sealing requirements have been properly implemented in the field installation.
3.
All files have been reviewed to ensure the Arrhenius methodology of accelerated aging has been properly applied.
4.
All SCEW sheets have been updated to ensure they contain current information (i.e., accuracy, radiation, etc.).
5.
All files include up-to-date SCEW sheets for each piece of equipment.
6.
The files for the ASCO NP 8361 valve and the Limitorque operators have been revised to reflect the correct qualification reports and all other related information.
