A routine radiological controls inspection
was conducted
by Mr.
R.
L. Nimitz
of this office on October 14-18,
1985 at the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station,
Units
1 and 2.
The findings of the inspection
were discussed
with Mr. T.
E.
Lempges,
Vice President,
Nuclear Generation.
The inspection of Unit
1 covered
personnel
training and qualification, previous
findings,
and inplant radiological controls program implementation.
The inspec-
tion of Unit 2 covered radiological control group organization
and staffing;
personnel
training and qualification, bulletins, circulars
and information
notices;
planning
and preparation
for fuel receipt;
and preoperational
testing.
Within the
scope of this inspection,
no violations were identified.
The
results of the inspection indicate that additional attention
should
be directed
to the closure of IE Bulletins and Circulars at Unit 2 ~
