March 23-27,

the
Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station,
Unit 2,
Scriba,
Mr. Gregg
discussed
the
findings of the
inspection
with
Mr. T. Perkins
and other
members
of your staff at the conclusion of the onsite
inspection.
The
objective
of this
inspection
was
to
review your activities related
to
installation
of the
new
Rockwell
"Y" pattern
globe type Main Steam Isolation
Valves
(MSIVs).
These
new valves
are
replacing
the
Crosby ball
type
Areas
examined
during
this
inspection
are
described
in
the
NRC
Region I
Inspection
Report which is enclosed with this letter.
Within these
areas,
the
inspection
consisted
of selective
examinations
of records,
interviews
with
personnel,
and observations
by the inspector.
Within the
scope of this inspection,
no violations were observed.
