Dear Mr. Mangan:
In your letter of July 8, 1985, submitting Amendment 20 to the FSAR for Nine Mile Point 2, you requested the Environmental Qualification Document (EQD) be deleted from the FSAR and the volumes returned to A. L. Monahan of Stone and webster Engineering Corporation.
Documents which are deleted from NRC copies of the FSAR are typically discarded, not returned.
In discussion with Don Hill of your staff, it was noted that outdated copies of the EQD would be retained in FSAR files.
Therefore, we recommend that if Niagara Mohawk wishes to take steps to assure this document is removed from NRC copies of the FSAR, you provide insertion instructions" which direct holders to discard their copies of the EQD.
Also, please note, your cover letter of July 8, 1985, referenced an Enclosure 2, "Summary of Incorporated Changes".
Enclosure 2 was not included in the sub-mittal.
