FIRE BRIGADE TRAINING Re:
Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Unit No.
1 We have reviewed your letter of September 4, 1984 concerning training for the fire brigade and have determined that brigade members successfully completing your program would meet the requirements of Paragraph III.H of Appendix R to 10 CFR 50.
- Further, we understand a licensed nuclear operator responds with the fire brigade to keep the shift supervisor informed, provides additional technical expertise, and to perform, as necessary, any field manipulation of equipment.
The bridage leader in concert with the assigned operator would fulfillthe requirements for the bridage leader having "equivalent knowledge of relevant safety-related systems."
We conclude this letter resolves any concerns regarding the systems aspects of your training program for the fire brigade.
