SUBJECT:
NINE MILE POINT 2 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Enclosed is a copy of the Boiling llater Reactor-5, Standard Technical Specification (STS) for use in developing the Nine Mile Point 2 Technical Specifications.
The following process should be followed in developing the Nine Mile Point 2 plant specific technical specifications:
1.
Review the STS document enclosed and a.
identify non-applicable portions of the document, b.
identify those areas where specifications are required but are not provided in the STS and, c.
provide the applicable information (where indicated) required to complete the STS.
2.
Upon receipt of your marked-copy of the STS, the NRC staff will prepare draft plant-specific technical specifications.
Since some plant-specific information will not be available when the marked-up STS are submitted, several meetings will be held to obtain the missing information and to resolve possible differences of opinion between the NRC staff and your staff.
3.
The NRC staff will then prepare the Proof and Review version of the plant-specific technical specifications.
This version will be issued for NRC staff (including Region
- 1) and PSESG review approximately 3-4 months prior to OL issuance.
Comments on the Proof and Review version will be resolved and the staff will prepare the Final Draft version of the plant-specific technical specifications.

expects to issue with the OL.
Thirty days prior to the expected date of OL issuance, you will be provided with the Final Draft version.
At that time you will be requested to review the Final Draft version and certify, by affadavit, that it accurately reflects the as-built plant and the FSAR.

The plant-specific technical specifications will subsequently be issued as Appendix A to the OL.
