SUMMARY
OF MEETING WITH NIAGARA MOHAWK POWER CORPORATION (NMPC)
ON GEOSCIENCE ISSUES On September 16, 1983 the NRC staff met with representatives from Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation (NMPC) to discuss the request for additional infor-mation in the Geology and Seismology areas in the August 12, 1983 letter from A. Schwencer to Gerald K. Rhode.
These requests for additional informa-tion were used as a basis for the discussion.
In addition, the supplementary requests for information in the area of Geo-sciences in the September 6,
1983 letter from A. Schwencer to Gerald K. Rhode were discussed.
NMPC was told that for requests for information which are related or overlapping, a collective response which covers more than one request would be acceptable.
Clarifications to the requests for information were provided by the NRC staff.
Technical justifications for the positions held by NMPC representatives were discussed.
A follow-up meeting to discuss the responses to the request for additional information was scheduled for the week of October 10, 1983.
A list of meeting attendees is attached.
