OL Environmental Review - Requests for Additional Information We have completed our initial review of the accident analysis, hydrologic engineering, and aquatic resources sections in the Nine hiile Point (2)
Environmental Report and have identified additional information required for our review in Enclosures 1,
2r and 3,~ respectively.
As discussed in our letter of August 19, 1983, additional requests for information concerning the Environmental Report will be transmitted to you as we complete our reviews of the remaining sections.
We are taking this approach in order to allow the maximum time for you to respond to our questions.
Consistent with the licensing review schedule for Nine Mile Point 2
responses to these requests for additional information should be submitted as changes to the FSAR by October 21, 1983.

In section 2.4.13.2 of the FSAR the zone of influence of the de-watering system is estimated to be two miles under worst case

Provide in more detail the assumptions and calcu-lations employed to arrive at this estimate.
Also provide an estimate of the maximum induced groundwater level change out-side of the NMPC or PASNY property boundaries.

Also, the significance of the comparisons made are not clear.
It appears that different types of risk (individual and total) are being compared.
Clarify this.
