OF MEETING WITH NIAGARA tlOHAWK POWER CORPORATION AND GULF STATES UTILITIES ON GDC 51 COflPLIANCE (FRACTURE PREYENTION OF THE CONTAINMENT PRESSURE BOUNDARY)
On June 7, 1983, the-NRC staff met with representatives from'Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation (NMPC), Gulf States Utilities (GSU) and Stone and llebster Engineering Corporation (SWEC) to discuss compliance to GDC 51 (Fracture Prevention of Containment Pressure Boundary) for Nine Mile Point 2 and River Bend Station 1 and 2.
.During this meeting the applicants made available. for review the following drawings for Nine Mile Point 2 and River Bend Station 1 and 2:
a.
Assembly and door detail drawings for the equipment hatch and personnel air lock b.
Mainstream and Feedwater.. Penetration Assembly Drawings c.
Drywell Head/Flange Detail Drawings Additional information and discussions on this issue will be required for both Nine Mile Point 2 and River Bend Station 1 and 2 to continue the~evaluation process of their compliance to GDC 51.
Specific information needed on lline Mile Point 2 is identified in Attachment 1.
Informatio~ ~'equi@ed to continue the review on River Bend Station 1 and 2 was indicated in a letter transmitted to the applicant

The applicants were also given an overview of the review process and requirements for compliance to GDC 51.
