REVISED PRESSURE - TEMPERATURE LIMITS Re:

Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Unit No.

1 Reference is made to your application of March 22, 1978 which submitted information to support the revised pressure - temperature limits.

The information was reviewed by our staff and we find that the items noted below are required to complete our review.

l.

Identify the limiting reacton vessel beltl,ine component (plate or weld) for the Nine Mile Point Unit 1 (NMP-1) reactor vessel.

2.

Provide the weight percent copper (Cu), phosphorus (P) and nickel (Ni) contained in the limiting component.

3.

Provide the bases for the revised curve you submitted.

The bases should discuss the expected change in the RTHDT, considering the projected nuetron fluence for arid."the Cu, Ni and P content of the limiting component.

The data that.support the bases should be from materQ1 that<has been irradiated in commercial light >rater reactors and is similiar to that in the NMP-1 limiting component.

In order to complete our review prior to your projected June start-up please provide the information within 30 days.
