Gentlemen This refers to the request in your letter of December 21, 1981, transmitting the Action Plan Progress Report for the month of November 1981.

Item 7 of your report requested permission to submit future reports on a quarterly rather than a monthly basis with the first quarterly report to be submitted in April 1982.

The submission of" quarterly progress reports is acceptable to this office.

To provide for a transition from the monthly to a quarterly reporting period, the first quarterly report should contain the information discussed between Mr.

Leach of your staff and Mr. R. Baer of this office on February 12, 1982.

This report, covering the period December 1,

1981 through March 31, 1982, will include, in addition to current radiation protection program improvements, a

comprehensive review of the Action Plan and Status Report submitted to date; any items which are still incomplete and projected completion date(s);

the status of your actions to increase staffing and the current number of positions filled; and a discussion of the training being given to newly hired personnel.
