Information Regarding the quality Assurance Organization for Nine Mile Point, Unit 2 We have received your letter dated January 22, 1982, in which you indicate that you have modified your tentative plans for a Project guality Organizaee tion previously outlined in your letter of November 24, 1981.

The attach-ment to your January 22nd letter indicates that this new uriit will now be known as a Compliance and Verification Unit.

Both the attachment and the v'etter itself state that this new unit will function separately from, and not alter in any way, the Corporate quality Assurance Program already established for Nine Mile Point, Unit 2.

Based on your statement that the Corporate gA Program will remain unchanged from that which was approved at the CP stage, we find that there is no need for us to revise and approve the changes within your modified project organization.

Accordingly, we have no objection to the immediate implementa-tion of your modified project organization.
