On t1arch 21, 1979, representatives of the staff met with Niagara Mohawk Paver Corporation licensing personnel at Bethesda, maryland.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss detailed engineering design aspects of certain changes to be made to the Reactor Protection and Emergency Core Cooling Systems Instrumentation at the Nine Nile Point Nuclear Station Unit l.

- 'Specific issues discussed include:

1.

Requirement for licensees to provide information on the interfaces between the Topical Report description and plant specific parameters, 2.

Seismic and environmental qualifications of components of the new analog transmitter/trip unit system to be installed, 3.

Separation and redundancy criteria, 4.

IdenQfication of standards and other document's that should be used for an acceptable

design, and.

5.

Schedule of licensee's submittal and time involved in review of the proposed design.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the staff agreed to transmit specific questions on the licensee's submittal dated January 16, 1979.

The licensee agreed to provide a reply to this request'within a week after receipt of the staff's letter.
