2 (TAC NO. H85874)
In a submittal, dated February 17, 1993, the licensee documented deviations from the guidance in R.G. 1.97, that had not previously been identified.
These deviations were for the instrumentation that monitors (1) meteorological variables, (2) containment pressure, (3) accumulator isolation valve position, (4) pressurizer
- level, and (5) reactor coolant system hot and cold leg temperature.
Issues were also identified regarding the subjects of separation of redundant instrumentation, ANSI/ANS Standard 4.5-1980, and quality assurance.
The separation issue will be handled by individual correspondence when the licensee's ongoing review effort is completed.
The deviations identified in your December 17, 1993 submittal are being reviewed and will also be handled by separate correspondence.
Enclosed is our safety evaluation which addresses the licens~e's February 17, 1993 letter.
The deviations identified are acceptable.
