SUBJECT:
UNIMPLEMENTED UNRESOLVED SAFETY ISSUES AT DIABLO CANYON On October 19, 1989 the NRC staff issued Generic Letter (GL) 89-21.
This GL requested information concerning the status of implementation of unresolved safety issues (USIs) at all operating nuclear power plants.
PGIIE responded to GL 89-21 by letter dated December 1, 1989.
Enclosed is a list summarizing our assessment of the current status of all unimplemented USIs at Diablo Canyon.
The enclosure is based on your response to GL 89-21, our review of Agency records, and discussions between your staff and the NRC staff.
The status of USI implementation at Diablo Canyon was presented to the Commission at a meeting on February 14, 1990.
