Thank you for your letter of May 2, 1990, in response

to our Notices of

Violation included in Inspection

Report

No. 50-275/90-01,

dated April 2, 1990.

Your letter informed us of the steps

you have taken to correct two of the

items

we brought to your attention.

The letter also reported that you

disagreed with one item, lack of prompt corrective action for potential

failures of radiation monitor RM-27, Enforcement

Item 275/90-01-01.

Your letter indicated that modifications were

made to improve the continuity

of sample flow to RM-27 and that you had implemented

compensatory

measures

to

require periodic verification of proper

sample flow (including appropriate

operator action to restore

sample flow in the event

o'f its loss).

The letter

also stated that your review of operator

round sheets

for the past six months

identified no instances

of loss of RM-27 sample flow.

Enforcement

Item 275/90-01-01 is withdrawn based

on the additional information

provided in your

May 2 letter, which addressed

the corrective measures

which

you had implemented to assure

satisfactory

RM-27 operation.
