The staff summary of this meeting was issued on February 10, 1987.

Also enclosed for your information, as Enclosure 2, is the FY 1986 annual report by Dr. K. Campbell of the U.S.G.S.,

consultant to the NRC.

The report

'summarizes work performed for the staff regarding the analysis of ground motion attenuation.

The methodology was developed for the Diablo Canyon site and applied in this report to ground motions in Utah.

The report will be included in a U.S.G.S.

Professional Paper under the title "Predicting Strong Ground Motion in Utah."

The staff is current'ly reviewing the report, in particular with respect to its applicability for the Diablo Canyon site.
